Contour and Detail Surveys

Contour and detail surveys are also commonly referred to as site surveys, feature surveys, or topographical surveys. These surveys provide detailed information over a project area or site, to guide and inform design choices and concepts or to validate constructed features and terrain. Leading Surveys has conducted contour and detail surveys ranging from single allotments all the way through to broad acre sites spanning many kilometres. Leading Surveys utilises a range of capture methods including total station, GNSS, ground penetrating radar, electromagnetic detection, laser scanning, UAV/Drone based photogrammetry and sourced large format plane LIDAR and photogrammetry. These various capture methods and the ensuant data offer a broad array of accuracies, deliverables and cost effectiveness depending on project requirements and scale. 3D Laser scanning, aerial LIDAR and photogrammetry allow high speed and contact free data acquisition, meaning that difficult to access and high-risk environments can be surveyed without having to expose equipment and personnel to the associated potential dangers. A good example of this is the ability to conduct most road surveys without having to access the road pavement anymore, reducing the impact to road users and limiting exposure of staff and equipment to traffic.
